Kim Phillips is a contemporary pop artist and mixed-media creator based in Byron Bay, Australia. With a career spanning over thirty years, Kim has been dedicated to her artistic practice since her twenties, continually evolving her style and exploring new mediums.

In her early years, Kim experimented with a wide range of art forms, including drawing, mosaics, murals, ceramics, and abstract painting. Her creative journey led her to the UK, where she achieved notable success designing jewellery featured in high-profile fashion editorials. Additionally, she designed a Mother’s Day range of greeting cards for Hallmark, showcasing her versatility and commercial appeal.

Kim’s art is deeply inspired by her childhood memories, often incorporating colours and patterns that remind her of growing up. These elements are meant to evoke feelings of positivity, joy, and and a sense of playful nostalgia. Her workis characterised by its vibrant use of colour and bold compositions, aiming to create a visual experience that is both joyful and uplifting.

Currently, Kim’s primary medium is resin, which she combines with pigments, colorants, glitter, and inks to create dynamic, eye-catching pieces. Her use of resin allows her to play with layers and textures, giving her artworks a unique depth and vibrancy. This approach has been particularly impactful in her recent pop art series of popsicles, which has garnered international attention and sales.

Kim’s work has been exhibited in numerous group shows and solo exhibitions across Australia, where she continues to make her mark on the contemporary art scene. Her dedication to her craft and her ability to infuse everyday memories with bright, energetic expression make her a distinctive voice in the Australian art world of pop art and mixed media.
